  • Crease Prevention: Large leather hides and pre-sewn covers for models like the Impala or Caprice are shipped in oversized, heavy-duty telescoping boxes to prevent permanent creasing of the leather or vinyl.

  • Structural Support: Fragile components, such as restored dashboards or door panels for a Cadillac, are crated or supported by custom foam inserts to prevent warping during transit.

2. Lead Times & Production Phases

Every order undergoes a rigorous technical engineering phase:

  • Phase 1: Material Sourcing (2–5 Days): We verify the grain and color match for your specific vehicle (e.g., Nova or Malibu).

  • Phase 2: Precision Cutting & Stitching (7–10 Days): Components are hand-crafted to OEM specifications.

  • Phase 3: Quality Control & Dispatch (1–2 Days): Final inspection and secure packaging.

  • Total Estimated Delivery: Most domestic orders arrive within 15–22 business days.

3. International Shipping & Customs

We ship globally to serve the international classic car and performance community.

  • Carriers: We utilize FedEx International Priority and DHL Express for all shipments containing leather kits for Porsche and Corvette.

  • Duties/Taxes: Please be advised that international customers are the "Importer of Record." All VAT, GST, or local import duties are the responsibility of the client.

  • Insurance: 100% of the declared value is insured. In the rare event of transit damage, Custom Upholstery will handle the claim on your behalf to ensure a swift resolution.
